The team was forced into bankruptcy in the 1970’s and many thought the team would fold or be forced to relocate. 2009 brought a third Stanley Cup to Pittsburgh. With new stars like Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, The Penguins defeated the Red Wings 4-3. It seemed like the whole city was wearing Pittsburgh Penguins hats and Pittsburgh Penguins t-shirts heading into the summer. That is really saying something in a city where the Steelers rule the town. The Penguins will now be in Pittsburgh for years to come. They will unveil a new arena for the 2010-2011 season.
