Indiana State Sycamores

The Indiana State Sycamores are the collegiate athletic teams which represent Indiana State University.  In total, the Indiana State Sycamores have 12 varsity athletic teams, all of which compete in the Missouri Valley Conference.  Due to the fact that they are a smaller school, the Indiana State Sycamores have a difficult time competing for the national championship in most sports.  However, the basketball team has had some success having won the NCAA championship in 1950.

The most popular of all Indiana State Sycamores apparel are Indiana State Sycamores jerseys which replicate the jersey formerly worn by legend Larry Bird.  Bird once led the Sycamores to second place in the NCAA tournament, where they eventually lost to Magic Johnson and the Michigan State Spartans.

The most popular sport on campus at Indiana State is men’s basketball.  When attending a Sycamores basketball game, many fans wear Indiana State Sycamores merchandise.  Due to the cold weather during the winter months, many fans of Indiana State wear Indiana State Sycamores sweatshirts and Indiana State Sycamores jackets to stay warm.  During the warmer spring and summer months, many students on the Indiana State campus in Terre Haute, IN are seen wearing Indiana State Sycamores t-shirts and Indiana State Sycamores hats.
