Scott Sharp
Scott Sharp, born in 1968 in Norwalk, Connecticut, is a driver in the American Le Mans Series. However, Sharp is better known for his racing in the Indy Racing League. Bob Sharp, the six-time SCCA champion, is his father.
Sharp started racing at a young age. He started with karts. This was when he was eight years old. This experience brought him a lot of success as he won 50 out of his 75 races. As an adult he holds the record for the most career Indy Car Series starts. His total was 147. Sharp, with 138 races, also holds the title for the most consecutive Indy Car Series race starts. Through these seasons it helped to raise the sales of the Scott Sharp memorabilia as well as the Scott Sharp hats and the Scott Sharp jackets. Sharp previously held two other records: one was for the most top-ten finishes. He totaled 82; the second was for the most consecutive seasons that included at least one first place win. Helio Castroneves now holds both of these honors. Sharps impressive racing increased the sales of the Scott Sharp apparel, the Scott Sharp memorabilia, and the Scott Sharp gear.
Sharp has announced that he will race in the 2010 series under his own team, the Extreme Speed Motor sports.
