Jeff Burton, driver of the Number 31 car in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, will be bringing out his Caterpillar Chevrolet Impala SS when he once again races for the Richard Childress Racing team in 2010.
Burton was born in 1967 in South Boston, Virginia. He started running in the Busch Series in 1988 in a car owned by his dad, John Burton. In 1989 he was named the Busch Series Rookie of the Year. This definitely was the beginning of his popularity as the sales of the Jeff Burton memorabilia, the Jeff Burton hats and the Jeff Burton jackets began to soar.
In 2008 Burton came close to taking the Daytona 500. During the last few laps he was up in front; however, when the race ended he finished in 13th place. Even so, this continued to raise his level of popularity and the Jeff Buron apparel, the Jeff Burton gear and the Jeff Burton merchandise became hot items.
During the 2009 NASCAR races Burton ran in all 36 races. He did not pull off a win although he had five places in the top five and ten places in the top 10. His gross earnings totaled more than five million dollars. Look out for Burton in 2010.
