Jamie McMurray
Jamie McMurray, winner of the 2002 UAW-GM Quality 500, when substituting for another driver, revealed his stuff in his second Winston Cup start. McMurray drives a Chevrolet Impala SS. He now races full time in the Sprint Cup Series. He races for the Earnhardt Ganassi Racing.
Fans find McMurray to be a nice guy. This is obvious from the number of sales of Jamie McMurray memorabilia, Jamie McMurray apparel and Jamie McMurray merchandise. In 2002 he won two races. He finished sixth in point standings. In 2003 McMurray won the NASCAR Winston Cup Rookie of the Year. This brought about more interest in the young driver and fans went after the Jamie McMurray hats and the Jamie McMurray jackets. In 2005 McMurray joined the Roush Fenway Racing team. This was a great boost to the Jamie McMurray gear. McMurrays 2009 season had a strong beginning. He dominated the final laps of the Budweiser Shootout but lost the lead in the last lap to Kevin Harvick. This still gave McMurray a strong second place win.
McMurray continues to be a strong contender. He has three career wins in the Spring Cup series. On the Nationwide Series McMurray has a total of seven career wins. He has also added one win in the Craftsman Truck Series.
