Rusty Wallace

Rusty Wallace has had a great career. He has been a race car driver, an actor, and an important television broadcaster. Born in 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri, Wallace is presently a television broadcaster for ESPN and ESPN on ABC. He also co-hosts the NASCAR Angels. His first live broadcast was the Indy 500, in May, 2006.

During the 1970’s Wallace became known in the field of racing by winning more than 200 short track races. These were mostly in the Midwest. As a result the Rusty Wallace jackets, Rusty Wallace hats, and the Rusty Wallace apparel started to sale. In 1979 Wallace was named the United States Auto Club’s Stock Car Rookie of the Year. This attracted more fans making the Rusty Wallace memorabilia, the Rusty Wallace gear, and the Rusty Wallace merchandise to soar in sales.

His popularity continued as he was the 1989 NASCAR Winston Cup Championship. In these races he was pitted against such legends as Dale Earnhardt and Darrell Waltrip. In 1998 Wallace won the Bud Shootout at Daytona. The following year, in 2004, Wallace won his 55th and file race on a short track. Rusty Wallace is presently tied for 8th on the NASCAR’s all-time winner’s list.
