Tampa Bay Rays
The Tampa Bay Rays are a rather young team, only dating back to 1998, when they began as the Devil Rays. Given their recent performance, Tampa Bay Rays merchandise sales have been climbing and climbing, with Tampa Bay Rays t-shirts being worn throughout the entire bay area. From Tampa Bay Rays jackets to Tampa Bay Rays hats, snow bunnies and native Floridian’s alike have embraced the new team, and the new name launched in 2007; even tourists are packing Tampa Bay Rays sweatshirts in their luggage, taking the team of Tropicana field home with them.
The Tampa Bay Rays spent the first ten years of the team’s life perfecting the art of last place. From 1998 to 2007, they ranked last in the American League East every single year, except in 2004, when they fought there way all the way up to… second from last. Then, the magic hit – in 2008 there was finally a reason to buy Tampa Bay Rays apparel – they made it all the way to first place in the AL East! The Rays had finally come of age. Fans flocked to World Series, Tampa Bay Rays hats on their happy heads, thrilled to see the Rays in their first Championship Games. Wearing Pena on the back of their Tampa Bay Rays jerseys, Rays fans were disappointed in the loss, but hopeful that now this team was really in the big leagues!
