Montreal Expos

Does anybody remember the Montreal Expos? I do, and I miss them. The Washington Nationals are no substitute for the team that left Montreal, Canada in 2004.

Montreal Expos apparel is still popular today. Anything with the stylish “M” , “e”, and “b” in red, white, and blue makes me think of Gary Carter, Andre Dawson, and Tim Raines in the glory days of the Expos. I can just see all those guys in their Montreal Expos jerseys at Olympic Stadium. Not one of the nicer stadiums, but it kind of went along with the Montreal Expos merchandise that was sold there.

Baseball made a big impact in Montreal, and when the Expos were rolling you saw fans wearing Montreal Expos hats all over the city. The fans kind of last interest at the end, when it was just a matter of not if, but when the team would be leaving. You still would see kids earing Montreal Expos jackets when the weather would start turning cooler, and female fans wearing Montreal Expos t-shirts in the summer, but it wasn’t the same.

I think it ould be a neat conversation piece to wear Montreal Expos sweatshirts around town, I think I’ll get one.
